Ro Sobey-Strick

They/Them; Art Therapy Intern

I am a Graduate Art Therapy Student at Notre Dame of Maryland University. My Undergraduate degree is a BA from the University of Maryland in Studio Art. I have experience in working with clients of a variety of ages, including adolescents and seniors, working with clients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and identity issues. I have a special interest in working with queer and gender-nonconforming adolescents and adults. I have provided group and individual services for clients. I have a client-centered-existential approach to art therapy. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space for creativity to help clients have a non-verbal way to express emotions and work on their goals.

Emily Taylor

She/Her; Art Therapy Intern

I am a second-year graduate student in the Notre Dame of Maryland University Masters of Art Therapy Program. I graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Minor in Writing. I have also had an education in painting, photography, and ceramics from Howard Community College in addition to working under the mentorship of a local artist.

Art therapy is a unique field that allows people to express themselves in a way that goes beyond the confines of spoken language. While I am still developing my skills in the field, I resonate with using cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy techniques combined with art-making to help my clients meet their treatment goals. I will be working under the supervision of Hannah Snyder for the 2025-2026 academic year to provide art therapy to clients in both individual and group settings.
